Dr. Rector and our staff know our patients and their families by name and spend time building relationships with each. We want you and your children to know you’re part of our family and that we are here for you!
Our main focus is on patient and parent education, which is vital to avoid future dental issues and maintain proper oral health. We don’t lecture, though. Instead, we use everyday words to teach and guide, explaining why the information is important. Whether we’re talking about proper brushing and flossing, nutrition, or establishing good habits, we reinforce the message with lots of praise and encouragement.
Likewise, we work hard to help kids and parents overcome any anxiety they may have about treatment. Before starting a procedure, we calmly walk through everything that will happen, using every day words and a Show-Tell-Do approach. Taking something “unknown” and making it non-threatening and familiar relieves worry and reassures our patient and their family.
